Define who competes in your marketThis is a quick and easy thing to do by creating a simple inventory of competitors. List them by product market on a spreadsheet, estimating the size of each and characterising how they compete (on price or if differentiated, in what way). In TMG’s experience, most clients elect to add some of our other recommended data points to support later strategic analysis of competitors, to help with a Five Forces Analysis and to help identify centres of foresight.
